We’re proud to share the impressive growth story of CAEmate — an Italian startup transforming how we monitor the safety of roads, bridges and tunnels.
CAEmate began with a bold idea: turn raw structural data into actionable insights. Their cloud platform, WeStatiX SHM, combines sensor inputs, AI and advanced simulation to build constantly updated digital twins of infrastructure. This enables continuous, predictive monitoring — far beyond the limits of traditional inspections.
But innovation rarely happens alone!
When CAEmate joined in 2019 as Network-affiliated the NOI Techpark in Bolzano, member of Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), their journey accelerated. At NOI, they found an ecosystem that helped them validate their business model, strengthen their technology roadmap and connect with researchers, industry experts and international partners. Access to incubation services, coaching and collaboration opportunities created the environment needed to evolve from a promising startup into a competitive deep-tech player.
Through the support of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), CAEmate secured over EUR 1 million in Horizon Europe and Interreg funding between 2020 and 2023, connecting with both venture capital and industrial investors. This groundwork enabled a EUR 3 million seed round led by CDP Venture Capital and 360 Capital in December 2023, formally launching CAEmate’s scale-up phase. The company received in 2025 the prestigious Seal of Excellence from the European Innovation Council — a recognition of both quality and market potential.
As a Local Node of EEN2EIC, NOI Techpark continues to support Seal of Excellence holders in accessing alternative funding pathways and strengthening their innovation journey — helping them move from “excellent idea” to “real-world impact.” Receiving the Seal of Excellence marked for CAEmate a turning point. In collaboration with the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, NOI Techpark worked in fact to create a dedicated support mechanism for companies holding the Seal of Excellence. Thanks to this joint effort, and the label in hand, CAEmate was able to unlock access to additional public co-financing — including around €3 million in public co-financing through regional ERDF mechanisms — which strengthened their financial foundation and enabled a clear scale-up phase. This funding boost accelerated industrialization of their digital-twin platform, supported international market entry, and laid the groundwork for substantial team growth projected through 2026. The Seal of Excellence also increased their visibility, attracting new partners, clients and opportunities across Europe.
CAEmate’s success shows what happens when visionary technology meets the right ecosystem, a great success recognized also at the EEN Awards in Aalborg (DK) the 26-28th of November during the EEN Annual Conference!
